Wilford Schupp to refurbish Neue Staatsgalerie foyer

In time for its 30th anniversary in 2014, the Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart will modernize the way in which it presents its collection. Wilford Schupp have been commissioned with the refurbishment of the Neue Staatsgalerie foyer.

In the entrance area, new information and sales counters will be installed and additional sales space will be created. The Neue Staatsgalerie’s trademark green floor will also be renewed.

Designed by James Stirling, Michael Wilford and Associates, the Neue Staatsgalerie was opened in 1984 and has, since then, become a “icon of postmodernism”. In early 2013, it was listed as one of Baden-Wuerttemberg’s important historical monuments.

From 10th of June 2013, various areas of the Staatsgalerie and Neue Staatsgalerie will be closed temporarily due to renovations.
